OPANA is a professional association representing the subspecialty of PeriAnesthesia nurses in Ontario. OPANA supports nurses who care for patients before and after anesthesia by promoting education, advocacy, professional development and best practices.

Joining OPANA connects you with a community of nurses who share your specialty. OPANA gives access to targeted education, updates in the field, network, and a platform to influence practice standards and policies.

You can join OPANA by registering through the Registered Nurses’ Association of Ontario (RNAO) website and selecting OPANA as your Interest Group. Non-RNAO or nurses who do not wish to join through RNAO can join OPANA directly through our website at www.opana.org/register.phtml.

Membership types typically include:

• RNAO members: add OPANA as an interest group
• Non-RNAO or PeriAnesthesia nurses members: Join OPANA independently
• Students: Discounted rates will apply
• Retired nurses: Discounted rates may apply
• Membership to National Association of PeriAnesthesia Nursing (NAPANc) which also includes membership to International Association of PeriAnesthesia Nursing (ICPAN)

• Networking with peers across Ontario

• Reduced fees for OPANA events and National conferences

Yes, non-members can attend any event organized by OPANA but not at a discounted rate or no early access to registration
